October eBay Love

With a long running eBay addiction, my Wishlist is always over flowing. Here are some of my favourites this week. Some I've bought, some I'm just enjoying looking at for now.

1. Ripped Skinny Jeans - £3.99
2. Totoro Onesie - £18.99
3. Cut Out Floral Blouse - £13.99
4. Dogtooth Jumper - £13.90
5. Neon Jumper - £12.99
6. Sleeveless Fur Vest - £16.49

It's a bit mean of me to have added the boots as they were a one off find but I LOVE them so couldn't leave them out. I've been looking for cute ankle boots that don't make me feel frumpy so hopefully these will do the job.

The Totoro onesie arrives this week and is the softest, cosiest thing I've ever worn. It also has a zip so you don't have to take it off and freeze every time you go to the bathroom. Genuis!

With the rest being shipped from China, I always put together outfits in my head that I've forgotten by the time it all arrives. Maybe this time I'll make a note so I can update with outfit posts once they're here.

Winter Is Coming

This week, my summer dresses and winter coats have swapped places. Dresses shoved to the back of the wardrobe, my rail is now weighed down with about 20 coats, because despite hating winter, I seem to subconsciously collect outerwear.

This weekend I went back home to the country, where I topped up my winter wardrobe some more. East London might be great for vintage finds, but there's nothing like small town charity shops for real one-off bargains. Outfit posts to come!

My obsession with ugly yet beautiful knitwear lives another year, starting with this guy.

For more sensible days, I topped up my endless collection of striped tops.

I won't lie, I bought this mainly because it looks like loads of Tooty Frooties. It also matches (read: clashes) perfectly with my new Vans.

My mum tried this on and looked like a complete 80s throwback, so I bagged it for myself! It didn't come with the fur collar, but I probably won't ever wear it without.

When these jeans were in H&M it was literally impossible to find them in anything under a size 12, so THANK YOU to whoever gave them in to Oxfam so that I could finally pick them up for £3.99!

Wishlist vs. Wardorbe: Winter Shoe Edition

Shamefully, I fit almost every female stereotype when it comes to shoes. Here's what I want for winter vs. what I'm working with.

I have an endless amount of black boots so picking my favourites for winter was hard, but here are my winter shoe staples - just until I get around to buying all of the above.

3. Primark - Cut Out Flat Boots
5. Shop in Shoreditch - Converse 113326

As you can see there's a bit of a running theme. When it comes to shoes, I know what I like and I don't stray far from it: bold, black, and chunky enough to turn walking into a chore. At least they'll keep me firmly on the floor in the winter winds.

I threw in a couple of 'sensible' options for good measure.

July?

Apparently it's July! So I bought some new shorts from Blitz Vintage on Hanbury Street, but haven't had much of a chance to wear them since it's been raining on and off since I burnt my shoulders in the sun on Sunday. I will never understand the British summer.

Pretty boring update, but a couple of bits arrived from my eBay haul and I was excited.

I've been dying to get my hands on these platforms for ages now so they were the first thing I bought on payday. As you can tell from the photos, I've not take them off since they arrived!

The studded bag is a bit of a basic but I was determined to find a handbag that wasn't black! I want to start on outfit posts but I just don't have time, so it will have to wait until the weekend.

Levi's cut offs - Blitz London, £19.80 (with 10% discount); Bag - eBay; Platforms - eBay

Pay Day Spree

My weekend of shopping began on Friday with a ClothesMinded mini-haul. I've had my eye on a few pieces for a while and finally got around to picking them up. Everything is such a bargain so if you're strapped for cash but need to update your summer wardrobe, be sure to check it out.

Striped Crop Top - £5; Monochrome Aztec Vest - £6; Sheer Crop and Bralet coming soon

On Saturday I set out with intentions of buying various presents I needed to find and an outfit for an upcoming wedding. Instead I ended up with two bralets, a pair of shoes, some earrings and a sheer black shirt dress.

Bralets - Urban Outfitters, £8 & £10; Earrings - Primark, £1.50; Shirt dress - Forever 21, £11.50; Heels - Forever 21, £10.49

Part 1 of my recent eBay spree arrived on Friday too - three backless leotards because I couldn't decide on just one colour and they were only £5 each! They go with pretty much everything so this is all I'm going to be wearing for the rest of summer.

Backless leotards - eBay (here), £5ish each

I'm off to Brick Lane now to do yet more shopping.
Have a good weekend.

HEY!

I took a little break from blogging owing to my devastating lack of funds meaning I've had no money to spend on looking nice for the past few months. But now, with a slight blog make-over, a full time job and a soon-to-be replenished wardrobe, I'm back, and it feels good.

Day Fifteen

I've spent most of today searching the internet for winter outfit inspiration. I never look at anyone else in a jumper and jeans and think they look awful, but I can't stand the sight of it on myself. It just feels so boring and uncreative.

As it turns out, most of the world seem to wear shorts in winter, because it's not -500 like it is in London, so all in all it was a useless waste of time, unless you're immune to sub-zero temperatures and are happy to wander around without a coat.

Day Fourteen

It snowed this morning, if you hadn't heard. And I HATE snow. In fact I hate any weather that isn't mild and at least slightly sunny, so it was big jumpers and fur all the way today. Tried and tested as a warm outfit (with two t-shirts and an extra pair of leggings), this will be my official outfit for the week if the snow keeps it up.

Jumper - vintage; Coat - vintage; Leggings - Urban Outfitters; Boots - eBay

Day Thirteen

My hangover Sunday has consisted of Breakfast Club with the hangover crew, Baileys latte's and streaming Les Mis. Ideal!

Cardigan - vintage; Crop top - Topshop; High waisted jeans - eBay; DM brogues - eBay; Necklace - eBay; Frilly sock - H&M

It can be as cold as it likes but I will be wearing crop tops through the snow, I don't even care. Also, high waisted jeans are an error when you're venturing out solely to stuff yourself with veggie breakfasts, but whatever.

Hope you've all had a lovely weekend!

Day Twelve

It's two of my girl's birthdays tonight so we're hitting the town. Wasn't entirely sure of my outfit - I feel part power lesbian, part office worker, part hipster - but I'm going with it anyway.

Blazer - H&M; Crop top - eBay; Trousers - H&M; Shoes - New Look; Bag - iOffer

In fact, I was considering returning these trousers until I noticed that that shop assistant had marked them down wrong so I actually got them for £5. What a bargain!

Day Eleven

A depressing day of emails, meetings and trying to sort my life out. Days like this always encourage me to dress in a way that contradicts my actual position. So where I feel like I should be in horrible lazy clothing, I dress like I actually have some money/good stuff going on. I'm not the only one who does that, right?

In other news today, I found a pair of Jeffrey Campbells reduced from £95 to £20 IN MY SIZE ONLY, and I didn't buy them, which proves that I am slowly but surely maturing when it comes to my finances. I'm also kind of willing for spring to come early so it's been a pastely kinda day over here.

Blazer - H&M; Jeans - American Apparel; Jumper - charity shop; Shirt - eBay; Brogues - Primark; Bag - eBay; Coat - Primark; Necklace - H&M

Thursday 10 January 2013

Day Ten

Despite what the weather seemed to suggest yesterday, summer hasn't actually started, so I froze in this today. Might be time to bring the furs back out. My winter denial means they've not seen much daylight this year.

Leather jacket - eBay; Jumper - Topshop; Skirt - American Apparel - Boots - Topshop; Bag - Primark

This dalmatian print canvas bag is my new favourite thing. I initially bought it (for a bargain £1.50) for the days I'm running around with my laptop and gym clothes, but it actually makes a pretty cute bag for normal days too!

Wednesday 9 January 2013

Day Nine

I spent this morning running errands, but having sorted out a teeny tiny bit of my wardrobe last night I decided to wear yet another sad piece that's been lying around waiting to be loved.

Top - American Apparel; Leather trousers - Topshop; Converse - Office; Necklace - eBay

I bought this sweat top during an American Apparel phase and have pretty much only ever worn it to the gym or to sleep. I wore it with a peacoat today which kind of reminded me of on of those outfits you'd reblog on Tumblr but looks really crap when you put it on yourself!

Teamed with leather trousers, this is pretty much the closest you'll ever see me get to the 'sports luxe' trend. A pretty pathetic attempt, but I just don't get it - sorry!

Tuesday 8 January 2013

Day Eight

Obviously I'm putting my new boots into action today! This is my second day of wearing something that's been sat in my wardrobe waiting to be loved. I bought this velvet leopard print top a few months back in a charity shop but I've been feeling so uninspired I've not got around to wearing it.

Similarly, yesterday's cricket jumper was a bargain for £1 at a car boot sale last summer and was actually in one of my eBay bags until I saw a few people wearing similar pieces and decided to give mine a go. I'm going to put it down to this blog inspiring me to make a use out of the numerous unworn items I own.
